Dairy Protein Institute Launches, Now Accepting Shareholder Applications

The Dairy Protein Institute (DPI) has officially launched with a clear purpose: to commercialize dairy-based innovation and ensure farmers share in the value it creates. DPI is designed to turn ideas into real-world solutions—connecting farmers, researchers, entrepreneurs, universities, and industry partners to move innovation from concept to market.

Unlike traditional research organizations, DPI is built around commercialization first. The Institute identifies white-space opportunities across food, beverages, supplements, pharmaceuticals, and emerging applications like skin and beauty, then develops and advances those ideas into scalable, market-ready solutions. By bridging science, business, and industry, DPI helps promising innovations succeed commercially while strengthening the long-term future of dairy.

At the core of DPI’s model is a commitment to farmers. DPI ensures that intellectual property, equity, and profits generated through its innovation pipeline flow back to the farmers who make dairy possible—giving them a direct stake in the outcomes of innovation and a stronger position in the value chain.

With its launch, the Dairy Protein Institute is now accepting applications from eligible dairy farmers interested in becoming shareholders. Shareholders gain a seat at the table in shaping DPI’s direction, supporting the development of new ideas, and participating in a collaborative ecosystem built to drive opportunity across the dairy industry.

Applications are now open. Dairy farmers who believe in a more innovative, equitable, and resilient future for dairy are encouraged to apply and be part of DPI’s next chapter.
